Mallorca is an incredibly attractive tourist destination thanks, in part, to its weather. The weather in Mallorca means that, regardless of the time of year you decide to visit the island, you’ll always have a number of varied and fun options when you’re not sure what to do in Mallorca.

Alcudia

In the north of the island of Mallorca is Alcudia, one of the best known Mallorcan towns nationally and internationally. During your visit to Alcudia you’ll be able to travel along the Bay of Alcudia, discovering the renowned Alcudia Beach and Playa de Muro. These beaches are visited each year by thousands of tourists keen to enjoy their kilometres of fine white sand and turquoise waters. They truly are places you’ll want to go back and visit time and again.

Alcudia is the ideal destination if you want to discover part of Mallorca’s history. On its streets you’ll find the remains of Roman towns, historic buildings, castles and walls – you won’t want to miss a thing. Another must-do is a walk around the Port of Alcudia where you’ll enjoy the company of the Mediterranean sea, finding numerous restaurants, shops and a wide variety of options along the way that will ensure your day in Alcudia is varied and complete.

The weather in Alcudia

Mallorca has a Mediterranean climate that means its inhabitants and visitors enjoy around 300 days of sun per year, making it the ideal destination to spend a few days’ holiday at any time of year.

Although it's true that any season is good if you are wondering when to travel to Mallorca, between June and September is when the days are longest, sunniest and warmest, and when the sea temperature is good for swimming - at least 21ºC.

The weather in Alcudia is warm and mild. The average annual temperature in Alcudia is 16.6ºC, August being the hottest month of the year, and January being the coldest. Summer in Alcudia is hot, but winter is mild and much warmer than in the rest of Spain.

The best option to cool down and protect yourself from the Mallorcan summer heat is to visit any of the numerous coves and beaches in Mallorca and swim in its crystal clear waters, or take advantage of the swimming pool in the complex you’re staying in.
