What to do in Alcudia in one day

Both the Alcudia beach and the Platja de Muro, which are sometimes confused since they’re right next to each other, deserve a visit. This plan is especially recommended if you’re planning to visit Alcudia in the summer since you can swim in the clean, turquoise waters and enjoy the best water sports. However, it’s also a must to visit these beaches to indulge in a seaside walk or a delicious picnic overlooking the Mediterranean Sea during other seasons, such as spring or autumn, for instance. Yannick and Ben Jakober Foundation

This is certainly top on the list of what to do in Alcudia in one day! We firmly believe that if one is to visit Alcudia, you must stop by this magical place. The Yannick and Ben Jakober Foundation is an impressive museum that perfectly blends with the natural environment that surrounds it (a protected reserve). The Yannick and Ben Jakober Foundation has some incredible artworks and artistic collections, such as the one with over 150 portraits of children from the XVI to the XIX centuries, a special Sokrates space, some marvellous gardens filled with astounding sculptures, and numerous other collection.

Roman City of Pollentia

The Roman City of Pollentia, or Pollensa in Spanish, was founded after the Majorcan conquest in the year 123 BC, after which it became one of the most important cities in the Balearic Islands during the Roman era.

It is located in the privileged environment between the bays of Alcudia and Pollensa, and some of the key areas of the place can still be seen today. There, you’ll travel back in time by visiting some of the ruins that still remain from emblematic spots such as the old Forum, the residential area of La Portella, and the Theatre, located in the outskirts of the city and close to where the port was during the Roman era.

The Alcudia market is one of the most famous and popular ones in Majorca, as we mentioned in our last post about the best Markets in Mallorca, in which you’ll also find the markets of Santa María del Camí and Inca.

The incredible local market is held every Tuesday and every Sunday in the streets of Alcudia’s walled old town. This plan is ideal to really get to know the most authentic side of both Alcudia and Mallorca through its people, their customs, culture and gastronomy. Grab your camera, some cash in case you want to buy a Majorcan sweet treat, and start exploring the charming stalls of the Alcudia market.

If, unfortunately, there’s no market that day, don’t fret. You can still spend a marvellous day getting to know Alcudia’s old town, which we can assure you is also a must experience on the island of Majorca.

Hidropark, an extra plan depending on the season

The famous Hidropark opens up for the season from May to October, so if you are planning to come during those dates, you’re a lucky one! It is one of the best waterparks in Majorca, and the best one by far in the North of the island. So, if you like water fun, this is a top plan.
