Discover a wonder of nature

S'Albufera Natural Park is one of the most important wetland areas in the Balearic Islands. In the waters of this ancient lake you'll find flora and fauna typical of Mallorca and more than 1,7000 hectares of salt marshes and dunes. If you stay at our fantastic Sea Club complex we advise you to visit this Natural Park, named Special Protection Area for Birds (under the Spanish acronym ZEPA) located only 5 kilometres away from the hotel.

A unique visit

For nature lovers, a hike around S'Albufera Natural Park becomes a pleasure for the senses. Access to the park is free, but registering as a visitor at reception is advised. For additional information / opening times ask our personnel at reception or follow this link.

Right now, there are four routes to get to the different points of interest in the park, that can be followed on foot or by bike: The Es Colombars Itinerary, the Sa Roca Itinerary, the Es Cibollar Itinerary and the Enmig - Ses Puntes Road.

Rich flora and fauna

Another highly recommended activity to enjoy the Albufera is to take advantage of the four vantage points for bird observation. If you like birds, this Natural Park is an ideal choice, for there are more than 200 different species. These birds live in the marshes and lakes and grow in numbers during the winter months, when they migrate to Alcudia to escape the cold.

You won't just find birds on your hike, in the Albufera there are over 29 species of fish, among which the eel (very often present in Mallorca) and the Can are especially notable. Different kinds of frogs and reptiles such as vipers also inhabit the marshes. And if you want to be surprised, don't miss out on the different types of bats in the area. Among them, you'll find the famous bat of the forest.

Landscapes, curious animals and beautiful vegetation... Can you think of a better plan for a family day? Ask at our reception the quickest way to get to the park! Our personal recommendation is to hire bikes and discover the area on 2 wheels.
